Ma’am Fronda is very famous in The Fisher Valley College (TFVC). She is not just a professor by occupation but a mother to us. She is known for her soft voice which touches the heart of her student, she is full of wisdom, considerate, intelligent, patient, and approachable and a very good professor. She wants all her students to learn.
She was born on June 16, 1946 in Baguio. She is the 4TH child among three children of Mr. and Mrs. Saturnino Sumalnap. Her siblings were all achievers.She grew up in Artacho, Pangasinan. She finished her elementary education in Artacho Elem. School 1958 with honor and finished her secondary education at Union Institute of Rosario, La Union. She was the president of Student Organization. She took up law because she really wanted to become a lawyer at Manuel L. Quezon in her first year college but because of adventure she reached Malaybalay, Bukidnon where she shifted her course from law to nursing however she felt homesick so she come back in Baguio. She enrolled in University of Baguio where she graduated Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English 1969. She was known as a debater and joined in Oratorical contests and Best Orator of the year. Later she came to Manila and lives in Signal Village. She was a former teacher in Fort Bonifacio Tenement Annex 1974- 1976 later known as Signal Village Nat’l High School (1995). Ma’am Fronda is an achiever. She served as a secretary and president of Faculty Club in Signal Village. An active perrineal emcee in NGO of Brgy. Signal. She is very active even in their community gatherings. A lecturer, an adviser in high school, adviser of contestant in school paper of Signal High School which reached until National level, coordinator in English Department and adviser of school paper Division of Taguig-Pateros.
Outstanding Teacher of Taguig- Pateros Division 1997.She was married to Mr. Antonio C. Fronda on March 11, 1971. They have three children which are all finished their education, the eldest Michaeal 39 is a nurse in Oxford, England, Maureen Ava 35 also a nurse in Bedford U.K and Ruth 33 work as private Physical Therapist in a hospital. Ma’am Fronda has six grandsons and granddaughters. Ma’am Fronda began her MA at Phil. Christian University but she finished it at Wesleyan University in 2002. She is teaching for almost 41 years both in high school and college. She served 32 years in high school, 4 years in Rizal Academy and almost 5 years in TFVC. Ma’am would rather stay in school to teach and exercise her skills than staying home doing household chores and vice versa. She really enjoys teaching and she loves it as well. She served as an inspiration to the students especially to the education students.
Her life is really meaningful because she spent it wisely, she cherish each moment of her life, thankful to all the blessings in her life and very proud because she did all the things that she wanted to do and until now she still doing the thing she love to do…….teaching.
